The Bible says, \u003ci\u003e“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”\u003c\/i\u003e Just as death is an appointment we cannot avoid, so too is the judgment that follows. Before that day arrives, there are a few very important things you need to know.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e\u003cb\u003eTHE BIBLE SAYS WE ARE ALL SINNERS.\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eRomans 3:10 – \u003ci\u003e“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.”\u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eRomans 3:23 – \u003ci\u003e“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”\u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEcclesiastes 7:20 – \u003ci\u003e“For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.”\u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eRomans 5:12 – \u003ci\u003e“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”\u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e\u003cb\u003eTHE BIBLE DEFINES SIN AS THE FOLLOWING.\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003e“The transgression of the law.”\u003c\/i\u003e – 1 John 3:4\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003e“The thought of foolishness is sin.”\u003c\/i\u003e – Proverbs 24:9\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003e“To him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”\u003c\/i\u003e – James 4:17\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003e“All unrighteousness is sin.”\u003c\/i\u003e – 1 John 5:17\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003e“Whatsoever is not of faith is sin.”\u003c\/i\u003e – Romans 14:23\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e\u003cb\u003eDID YOU KNOW THERE IS A PENALTY FOR SIN?\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eThat’s right. In the same way that a judge demands a penalty for crime, God demands a penalty for sin.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003e“For the wages of \u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003ci\u003esin\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003e is \u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003ci\u003edeath\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003e.”\u003c\/i\u003e \u003cspan\u003e\u003ci\u003e(Romans 6:23)\u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBut notice, this death is more than just physical, for the Bible also warns of a second death—eternal judgment—defined as being cast into the lake of fire:\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003e“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” \u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003ci\u003e(Revelation 21:8).\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e This is the final and eternal consequence for all who die in their sin.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e\u003cb\u003eHOW CAN A HOLY AND JUST GOD SHOW MERCY TO LOST SINNERS?\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe truth is, God doesn’t want anyone to go to Hell, for the Bible declares in 2 Peter 3:9:\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003e“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”\u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eYet at the same time, God is perfectly holy and just, and as a perfect Judge, our sin must be punished. So this raises a question: How can a loving God extend mercy to lost sinners, while at the same time remain perfectly holy and just?\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe answer is found in Romans 5:8:\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003e“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, \u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003ci\u003eChrist died for us\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003e.”\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e\u003cb\u003eWHO IS JESUS CHRIST?\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe Bible leaves no doubt: Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh. About 2,000 years ago, He came into this world, born of a virgin. He lived a perfect, sinless life for thirty-three and a half years. Toward the end of His life, He had a public ministry, but He was hated by many religious leaders who conspired against Him. They arrested Him on false charges, and though He was innocent, He was unjustly sentenced, beaten, and crucified on a cross. The Bible says that He died; He was buried; and three days later He rose again—victorious over sin, death, and the grave.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e\u003cb\u003eDO YOU KNOW WHY JESUS WENT THROUGH ALL THAT BLOODY MESS ON THE CROSS?\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eRemember, your sin is the problem—it is the reason you cannot go to Heaven, but the only thing that can wash away your sin is the blood of Jesus Christ.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eRomans 5:9 - \u003ci\u003e“Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”\u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt is through the Lord Jesus Christ alone—through His shed blood and His finished work on the cross—that a lost sinner can be redeemed, forgiven, and completely cleansed from all sin \u003cspan\u003e\u003ci\u003e(Ephesians 1:7; Revelation 1:5).\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e You see, this is what’s called the great exchange: though you are a sinner, He took your sin and your place upon that cross so that you might receive His righteousness and the free gift of eternal life.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e\u003cb\u003eETERNAL LIFE IS A FREE GIFT RECEIVED BY FAITH.\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eRomans 6:23 – \u003ci\u003e“For the wages of sin is death; \u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003ci\u003ebut\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003e \u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003ethe gift\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003e of God is \u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003eeternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003e.”\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTake a moment to notice the contrast between what sin earns (\u003cb\u003edeath\u003c\/b\u003e) and what God freely gives through Jesus Christ (\u003cb\u003eeternal life\u003c\/b\u003e). Eternal life is a gift—and by definition, a gift isn’t something you work for; it’s something freely given.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEphesians 2:8-9 – \u003ci\u003e“For by grace are ye saved \u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003ethrough faith\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003e; and that \u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003enot of yourselves\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003e: it is \u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003ethe gift\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003e of God: \u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003eNot of works\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003e, lest any man should boast.”\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eChurch membership, baptism, good works, or religious effort cannot save you. Only Jesus Christ can.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e\u003cb\u003eACCEPTING THIS FREE GIFT IS AS SIMPLE AS ABC.\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eA. Admit to God that you are a sinner.\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eYou stand guilty before a holy, righteous, and just God—a sinner in desperate need of a Savior.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eB. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBelieve that He died for your sins, that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. The Bible declares this to be the gospel by which you are saved.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003e“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures”\u003c\/i\u003e \u003cspan\u003e\u003ci\u003e(1 Corinthians 15:1-4).\u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe fact is, it’s personal — He did that for you.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eC. Call upon the name of the Lord.\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eRomans 10:8–10 says: \u003ci\u003e“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eRomans 10:13 says: \u003ci\u003e“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”\u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eWhosoever means you!!!\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eRight now, if you’ve never accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, and you would like to, simply go to God in prayer. If you’re not sure how to pray, you might pray something like this:\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003eDear God, I know that I am a sinner. I ask You to forgive me for my sins, and with a humble heart I’m asking You to save me. I believe that Jesus Christ was my substitute, that He died on the cross for my sins, that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day, according to the Scriptures. I place my faith solely in the Lord Jesus Christ—trusting what He did for me on the cross. Thank You for saving me, for forgiving my sins, and for the free gift of eternal life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eIt’s important to understand these are not some magical words you repeat to get to Heaven. They are simply an example of what you might pray to God if you truly believe what the Lord Jesus Christ did for you on the cross and want to be saved.\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIf you have made the decision to get saved, Congratulations! That was the most important decision you could ever make. Because of that decision, you no longer have to worry about going to Hell—your eternal destiny is secure. You can rest on this promise:\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003e“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”\u003c\/i\u003e \u003cspan\u003e\u003ci\u003e(Philippians 1:6)\u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBut don’t stop there—pass this tract to someone else—a friend, family member, a co-worker, anyone—so they too can know what the Lord Jesus Christ has done for them.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e\u003cb\u003eNOW THAT YOU ARE A BORN-AGAIN CHILD OF GOD, WHAT’S NEXT?\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eJoin a good Bible-believing church.\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGod never intended the Christian life to be lived in isolation. Faithful fellowship with other believers provides accountability, encouragement, and sound teaching as you grow in the truth of God’s Word.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eSpeak with your pastor about water baptism.\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWater baptism does not save you, but it is an act of obedience after salvation—an outward testimony of the inward work Christ has already done in your heart.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eStudy your King James Bible daily.\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSpiritual growth comes through God’s Word.
