When you break God’s law, it is called sin. The Bible says we all have sinned. \u003ci\u003e“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard”\u003c\/i\u003e \u003ci\u003e(Romans 3:23). \u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eLike a judge sentencing a lawbreaker to death for his crimes, God has given you and I the death penalty for our sins. \u003ci\u003e“For the wages of sin is death...” \u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e(Romans 6:23). \u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3 class=\"p9\"\u003eThe Bad News\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhat satisfies justice is doing the time for your crime or making a payment for your debt to the law.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"p10\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eYou cannot be set free by...\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003easking for forgiveness\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e“changing your ways” to become a better person\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003econfessing to the judge\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ehoping your good outweighs the bad\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\u003cp class=\"p11\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eYour debt MUST be paid. Time or a payment!\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIf God sentences a lawbreaker to Hell, He would be doing what is legal and right. God is eternal, and when we break His moral law, the punishment is eternal. Revelation 20:15 says, \u003ci\u003e“And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.”\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHowever, if someone pays your penalty, God will do what is legal and right and will let you go with justice being satisfied. In God’s courtroom, you don’t need your “goodness.” You need a payment!\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eThe Good News\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp class=\"p12\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe payment has already been made for you.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGod is a Spirit. He entered into His creation as a man: Jesus Christ. \u003ci\u003e“For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body”\u003c\/i\u003e \u003ci\u003e(Colossians 2:9).\u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHe wrote a check for you with His blood when He died on the cross for your sins. \u003ci\u003e“He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins”\u003c\/i\u003e \u003ci\u003e(Ephesians 1:7).\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe last thing He said before dying was, \u003ci\u003e“It is finished.”\u003c\/i\u003e Meaning, the debt of your sin has been paid.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHe died, was buried, and rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures, and is alive now in Heaven \u003ci\u003e(1 Corinthians 15:1-4).\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTo find forgiveness and eternal life, turn from trusting in \u003cb\u003eanything\u003c\/b\u003e you do, and instead trust what God did for you (repent).\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3 class=\"p9\"\u003eReceive the Payment\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eGod offers salvation by \u003cb\u003egrace\u003c\/b\u003e. Grace is not earned or deserved; it is a free gift. \u003ci\u003e“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it” \u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e(Ephesians 2:8-9).\u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"p13\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDo you believe that Jesus Christ died to pay for your sins with His blood?\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003e“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” \u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e(Romans 10:9).\u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003e“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved”\u003c\/i\u003e \u003ci\u003e(Romans 10:13).\u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTo be saved, you may pray something like this in your heart: \u003ci\u003e“Lord, I know that I am a sinner, and my good works cannot save me from Hell. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins, was buried, and rose again. Thank you, Jesus, for being my Saviour and shedding Your blood to pay for my sins.” \u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3 class=\"p9\"\u003eYour New Life in Christ\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhen you trust Jesus Christ as your Saviour, God’s word tells you that you can know you are saved and sealed by the Holy Spirit.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003e“I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life”\u003c\/i\u003e \u003ci\u003e(1 John 5:13).\u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003e“And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you.
