But, no amount of good deeds can wipe away our sins.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003eFor all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. \u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003eROMANS 3:23\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt’s because of our own sin that we come up short of God’s glory, so our sin had to be dealt with.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003eFor the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. \u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003eROMANS 6:23\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhat we get for our own personal sins is spiritual death or separation from God. That is what we have earned. Period. And this separation eventually leads to an awful place of torment called hell, BUT the good news is that God loved us so much that He gifted us eternal life through Jesus Christ. This gift is something given out of God’s love for us, not because we earned it—because we didn’t.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003eFor I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. \u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e1 CORINTHIANS 15:3\u0026amp;4\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis gift of eternal life is completely free to you and me. It cost Jesus His life, but He rose again the third day to give us victory. Jesus finished the work for us to be saved from our sins on that cross. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eIT IS FINISHED!\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003eWhen Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. \u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003eJOHN 19:30\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAs Jesus hung on that cross, just before taking His last breath, He proclaimed, \u003ci\u003e“IT IS FINISHED!”\u003c\/i\u003e The work for our salvation had been completed!
