The Holiness of God\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eGod is perfectly pure, completely separate from sin, and set apart from all creation.\u003c\/b\u003e It is the only attribute repeated three times in Scripture: \u003ci\u003e“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty”\u003c\/i\u003e \u003ci\u003e(Isaiah 6:3)\u003c\/i\u003e, showing how central it is. His holiness is seen in all He does and in His judgment of sin—especially at the cross, where Jesus took that judgment in our place.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBelievers are called to \u003cb\u003elive holy lives\u003c\/b\u003e: \u003ci\u003e“Be holy, because I am holy”\u003c\/i\u003e \u003ci\u003e(1 Peter 1:16)\u003c\/i\u003e. Unbelievers are called to repent, trusting and following Christ.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e2. The Power of God\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eGod can do all He plans. Nothing is too hard for Him (Jeremiah 32:17).\u003c\/b\u003e The Bible says, \u003ci\u003e“Nothing is too hard for you”\u003c\/i\u003e \u003ci\u003e(Jeremiah 32:17)\u003c\/i\u003e, and \u003ci\u003e“Power belongs to you, God”\u003c\/i\u003e \u003ci\u003e(Psalm 62:11).\u003c\/i\u003e We see God’s power in creation, sustaining the world, helping His people, raising Jesus from the dead, changing lives through the gospel, and judging evil and creating a new world. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBecause of this, we should \u003cb\u003efear, praise, and trust Him\u003c\/b\u003e. Through the Holy Spirit, God helps believers endure suffering, fight sin, and live for Him. His power warns unbelievers to turn to Jesus, the only refuge from judgment.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e3. The Presence of God\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eGod is present everywhere with His whole being. \u003c\/b\u003eDavid wrote, \u003ci\u003e“Where can I flee from your presence?” \u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e(Psalm 139:7)\u003c\/i\u003e. Answer: Nowhere! Even though God is above all creation, He is also near us—even living in His people by the Holy Spirit.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFor believers, His presence brings \u003cb\u003ecomfort, joy, strength, and confidence in prayer\u003c\/b\u003e. We are never alone. For unbelievers, God’s presence means no one can escape His judgment. Yet in mercy, He calls people to repent and trust in Christ.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e4. The Knowledge of God\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eGod knows everything perfectly—what has happened, what is happening, what will happen, and even what could have happened. \u003c\/b\u003eHe declares: \u003ci\u003e“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come”\u003c\/i\u003e \u003ci\u003e(Isaiah 46:10a).\u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis leads believers to \u003cb\u003epraise Him, find comfort in trials and failure, pray with confidence, and live with accountability\u003c\/b\u003e, since He sees even our motives. It also warns unbelievers: \u003ci\u003e“Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight”\u003c\/i\u003e \u003ci\u003e(Hebrews 4:13)\u003c\/i\u003e. We will all give an account, and only Jesus can save us from the coming judgment.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e5. The Fatherhood of God\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eGod is Father to all who come to Him through faith in Jesus Christ.\u003c\/b\u003e John 1:12 says that those who receive Christ become children of God. Through adoption, believers are brought into God’s family—one of the greatest gifts of salvation. Justification declares us right before God as Judge; adoption grants us the privilege of calling Him Father. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBecause of this, believers can \u003cb\u003epray with confidence, trust His care, and receive loving discipline that helps them grow in holiness\u003c\/b\u003e \u003ci\u003e(Romans 8:15; Hebrews 12:6)\u003c\/i\u003e. God invites unbelievers to trust in Jesus and become His children.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e6. The Love of God\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eGod’s love is not only what God shows, but who He is.\u003c\/b\u003e Scripture says, \u003ci\u003e“God is love”\u003c\/i\u003e \u003ci\u003e(1 John 4:8, 16). \u003c\/i\u003eHe loves because He chooses to, not because we deserve it \u003ci\u003e(1 John 4:10, 19)\u003c\/i\u003e. His love is holy, so He does not ignore sin \u003ci\u003e(Habakkuk 1:13a)\u003c\/i\u003e. It is sacrificial, because He gave His Son for sinners \u003ci\u003e(Romans 5:8)\u003c\/i\u003e. It is everlasting, and nothing can separate believers from it \u003ci\u003e(Romans 8:38–39). \u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis truth should \u003cb\u003edeepen our love for God and others\u003c\/b\u003e. For unbelievers, it is an urgent call to come to Christ and receive His saving love \u003ci\u003e(John 3:16).\u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e7. The Wisdom of God\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eGod always chooses the best goals and the best ways to accomplish them for His glory.\u003c\/b\u003e \u003ci\u003e“His wisdom is profound”\u003c\/i\u003e \u003ci\u003e(Job 9:4)\u003c\/i\u003e, and God alone is perfectly wise \u003ci\u003e(Romans 16:27)\u003c\/i\u003e. We see His wisdom in creation, the cross, the church, and in shaping believers into Christ’s likeness. He gives wisdom to those who ask in faith. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFor believers, this calls for \u003cb\u003etrust and submission\u003c\/b\u003e. For unbelievers, it is an urgent call to come to Christ, \u003ci\u003e“in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom” \u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e(Colossians 2:3).\u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e8. The Wrath of God\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eGod’s wrath is His holy hatred of sin and His just judgment of evil. \u003c\/b\u003e\u003ci\u003e“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven”\u003c\/i\u003e \u003ci\u003e(Romans 1:18).\u003c\/i\u003e Unlike human anger, His wrath is perfect, righteous, and holy. Because God is holy, He must judge sin. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFor believers, Christ \u003ci\u003e“rescues us from the coming wrath”\u003c\/i\u003e \u003ci\u003e(1 Thessalonians 1:10)\u003c\/i\u003e. This leads us to \u003cb\u003ethank God, fear sin, and warn others\u003c\/b\u003e. For unbelievers, the truth of God’s judgment is a serious warning. Yet mercy is found in Jesus, who bore God’s wrath for sinners. Turn to Him and be saved.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e9. The Faithfulness of God\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eGod always keeps His promises.\u003c\/b\u003e He never lies or changes. His faithfulness is seen in the way He cares for His people, corrects them, strengthens them, and one day will bring them into His perfect presence. The Bible says, \u003ci\u003e“He who promised is faithful” \u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e(Hebrews 10:23). \u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBecause God is faithful, believers can \u003cb\u003etrust Him in suffering and temptation\u003c\/b\u003e. He is also faithful to judge those who reject Him. He calls sinners to repent and trust in Jesus Christ for forgiveness and eternal life. Whoever comes to Him will never be turned away.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e10. The Sovereignty of God\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eGod rules over all things and works everything according to His will (Ephesians 1:11).\u003c\/b\u003e Nothing is outside His control. No one can stop His plans \u003ci\u003e(Job 42:2)\u003c\/i\u003e. God even uses evil to ultimately accomplish His sovereign and good purposes, for \u003ci\u003e“in all things God works for the good of those who love him” \u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e(Romans 8:28; see also Genesis 50:20). \u003c\/i\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFor believers, this brings \u003cb\u003ehumility, confidence, and comfort in trials\u003c\/b\u003e. For unbelievers, it is a warning to turn to Jesus Christ, who alone saves.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e11. The Patience of God\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eGod is \u003c\/b\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003e“slow to anger and rich in love”\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cb\u003e (Psalm 145:8).\u003c\/b\u003e He delays judgment, giving sinners time to repent. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFor believers, this teaches us to be \u003cb\u003epatient, gentle, forgiving, and slow to anger\u003c\/b\u003e. For unbelievers, His patience is both a warning and an opportunity. Do not mistake His patience for approval. Turn to Jesus Christ today while there is still time.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003e12. The Unchanging Nature of God\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eGod never changes in His being, character, or purposes.\u003c\/b\u003e \u003ci\u003e“I the Lord do not change”\u003c\/i\u003e \u003ci\u003e(Malachi 3:6)\u003c\/i\u003e. God does not grow, weaken, or diminish—He is always the same \u003ci\u003e(Hebrews 13:8)\u003c\/i\u003e. And because He never changes, His promises never fail. Though He may deal differently with people who repent or reject Him, His character and purposes remain constant. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFor believers, this brings \u003cb\u003ecomfort because His love and promises will never fail\u003c\/b\u003e. He is our steady Rock in every trial. For unbelievers, His unchanging holiness is a warning to turn to Jesus Christ for salvation.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eConclusion\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eA helpful way to remember God’s attributes is to begin each day in prayer by focusing on one of them. Work through each one, asking God to shape your life through it.
